Using this website

This website is provided by Pediatric Dentistry of Florida, Dr. Tim Verwest, DMD & Associates (“we,” “our,” “us”) for general information about our practice and for parent education. By using the site, you agree to these terms. Please use the site lawfully and kindly: don’t attempt to disrupt it, misuse it, or interfere with other visitors.

Educational content, not dental or medical advice

Everything on this website, including service descriptions, parent guides, the Kids’ Dental Dictionary, questions and answers, ages-and-stages pages, storybooks, and games, is educational. It is general information, not dental or medical advice, and it is not a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for care from a licensed dentist or physician who has examined your child. Every child is different; what is right for your child depends on an exam and a conversation with a professional who knows them.

No dentist-patient relationship through this website

Reading this website, playing its games, or calling to ask a question does not create a dentist-patient relationship. That relationship begins when your child is seen and accepted as a patient at one of our offices.

Emergencies

This website is not for emergencies. If your child has a dental emergency, call us at (239) 482-2722. If you believe your child is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, such as trouble breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, or a serious head injury, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room first.

Booking happens by phone

This site does not take appointments online; scheduling happens by phone so a real person can help your family. Calling does not guarantee a particular appointment time, and scheduling is always subject to availability.

Our content, and what you’re welcome to do with it

The content on this site, including text, illustrations, photos, videos, storybooks, printables, and games, belongs to Pediatric Dentistry of Florida unless otherwise noted. Families are welcome (encouraged!) to read the storybooks online and to print the storybook PDFs, coloring pages, brushing charts, and award certificates for personal, non-commercial use at home, in a classroom, or with your child. Any other reproduction, distribution, or commercial use requires our prior written permission.

Games and interactive features

The games, brushing timer, badges, and other interactive features are for fun and encouragement. They are toys, not medical devices, and earning (or not earning) a badge says nothing about your child’s dental health.

Accuracy of information

We work to keep this site accurate and current, and our educational pages cite professional sources such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry where appropriate. Even so, general content can become outdated, and it is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of completeness, accuracy, reliability, or availability.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pediatric Dentistry of Florida shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, this website or its content. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a patient under applicable law.

Third-party links

Links to other websites, including our social media profiles and the video player, are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

Privacy

Website privacy is covered by our Privacy Policy; the short version is that this site is built to collect as little as possible. Patient health information is protected under HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices, available by calling either office.

Changes; governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; changes take effect when posted on this page with a new effective date. These Terms of Service are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
