If you are booking from Cape Coral, the trip begins with a decision about water. Our offices sit on the far side of the river, so a checkup means a crossing, and there is no version of this page where we pretend otherwise.

Two bridges do the work. The Cape Coral Bridge is the natural one if you are starting from the south end of the city. Del Prado Blvd and Veterans Memorial Parkway feed the Midpoint Memorial Bridge if you are starting north or somewhere in the middle. Both leave you on the Fort Myers side within reach of Summerlin Road, and Summerlin Road is the one our office sits just off of.

Plenty of errands are not worth crossing water for. This practice was built on the theory that a children's dental visit can be, as long as what waits on the other side is an office a child actually wants to walk into, and a team that treats the drive you made as a reason to get the visit right the first time.

Your office from Cape Coral

The address is 8016 Summerlin Lakes Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33907, just off Summerlin Road. Parking sits right outside the door, so the last stretch of the trip is manageable even with a stroller in one hand and a toddler with opinions in the other.

The bridges have their moods, and the answer to that is scheduling, not heroics. A few things worth asking for when you call:

• Pick the time, not just the day. Tell the front desk when the crossing tends to be kindest for you and they will look for an appointment that lands there.
• Stack your kids. Back to back appointments for siblings mean one bridge, one parking spot, and one morning spent instead of three.
• Put the next visit on the calendar before you leave. Standing at the desk, while you are already there. It is the easiest way to keep a crossing from turning into a project you keep postponing.
• Give yourself a few extra minutes. Arriving early is not wasted time here. The lobby is the part your child came for.
• If the road has other plans, call. Running late is a phone call, not a failure, and we would much rather adjust than have you drive angry with a kid in the back seat.

It is also worth asking whether a checkup can be paired with anything else your child already needs. One crossing that covers a cleaning and a follow up is worth more to a Cape Coral morning than two tidy separate appointments on two different days.

What is waiting on the other side

The Fort Myers office is built like a sunken world. Under age three, most visits are a gentle lap exam with your child facing you the whole time, along with teething guidance and thumb-sucking and pacifier support. After that, checkups every six months keep little problems little.

If your child has never been, or has not been in a long while, say so when you call. Nobody here will make you feel bad about the gap, and a first visit that ends on a win is better than a complete one that ends in tears.
