What happens once you're inside

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first dental visit by the first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth coming in, whichever comes first. Under age three, that visit is usually a gentle lap exam with your child facing you the whole time, nothing more complicated than that.

If your family is past that window already, come anyway. There is no catching up penalty here, just a visit sized to where your child actually is right now, not where a calendar says they should be.
