How young is too young for a first visit?
There is no too young. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first visit by the first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth, whichever comes first. Most first visits at that age are brief and gentle, spent entirely on a parent's lap rather than in the chair alone.
Can a parent stay in the room during the appointment?
Yes. Younger children, typically under three, are examined while sitting on a parent's lap, so you are part of the exam by default. Older kids often do fine with a parent simply nearby. Say so when you book, and the team will plan the visit around it.
